Man Stabbed in Back and Chest Inside Harlem Subway Station After Street Dispute, NYPD Says

MANHATTAN, N.Y. — A 28-year-old man was stabbed multiple times near a Harlem subway station Friday afternoon after a verbal dispute escalated into violence, according to the NYPD.

The attack happened around 1:19 p.m. Friday near the intersection of West 145th Street and Saint Nicholas Avenue within the confines of the 30th Precinct and Transit District 3, police said. Investigators say the victim was entering the 145 Street subway station when an unidentified man approached him from behind, pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the back and chest.

The suspect fled following the assault, and no arrests had been announced as of Sunday.

According to NYPD Crimestoppers, the stabbing began with a verbal dispute between the victim and the unidentified suspect near the busy Harlem intersection before turning violent moments later near the station entrance.
