QUEENS, N.Y. – A 40-year-old man was stabbed several times during a dispute aboard a southbound R train early Saturday morning at the Steinway Street subway station, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 2:07 a.m. on December 20 when the victim became involved in a verbal altercation with another passenger. Police said the unidentified assailant pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times in the torso and left leg before the train arrived at the station.

The victim exited the train after the attack while the suspect remained onboard and fled in an unknown direction. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was listed in stable condition.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
