Grandmother hits $100K jackpot after quick stop at Maryland gas station

CECILTON, MD — A Delaware grandmother turned a simple drive into a life-changing moment after winning $100,000 on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off ticket.

The New Castle County woman bought the ticket while giving her nephew a ride and stopping at a Royal Farms on North Bohemia Avenue in Cecilton.

Her $10 Silver Bell Bucks ticket turned out to be a top-prize winner worth $100,000.

The winner said she plans to share the money with family but has not yet decided how the winnings will be used.

The Royal Farms store that sold the ticket will receive a $1,000 bonus.

The Silver Bell Bucks game was part of a holiday-themed scratch-off launch, and as of March 18, two $100,000 top prizes remain unclaimed along with several $10,000 prizes and thousands of smaller prizes.
