METHUEN, Mass. — A Methuen resident is celebrating a $2M lottery win after purchasing a winning scratch-off ticket at a neighborhood convenience store in the same city where he lives.
The Massachusetts State Lottery announced that Yefersson Agudelo-Alvarez of Methuen won a $2M grand prize playing the “$2,000,000 Stacked” instant ticket game.
Agudelo-Alvarez chose the cash option and received a one-time payment of $1.3M before taxes.
According to lottery officials, he plans to invest his winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased at Route 110 Convenience, located at 196 East St. in Methuen.
The retailer will receive a $20,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The Massachusetts State Lottery did not release additional details regarding the purchase.
The $2,000,000 Stacked game continues to offer players opportunities to win top prizes through tickets sold statewide.
