Hamilton Township, NJ — A Milmay man suffered serious injuries Thursday evening after losing control of his motorcycle on a curve in Hamilton Township, prompting a medical helicopter transport to a regional trauma center.

The crash happened at approximately 6:46 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of West Point Avenue and Sheppard Avenue, according to the Township of Hamilton Police Department. Investigators said Theodoros Georgis Sr., of Milmay, was riding a 2020 Harley Davidson Heritage northbound on West Point Avenue when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.

Motorcycle Leaves Road, Rider Ejected

Police said the motorcycle ran off the road and overturned, ejecting Georgis into a nearby tree line.

Emergency responders provided medical treatment at the scene before Georgis was flown by SouthSTAR Air Medical Helicopter to AtlantiCare City Division Trauma Unit for additional care.

The severity of his injuries was not immediately released.

Multiple Emergency Agencies Respond

The crash drew a response from several emergency services agencies, including the Township of Hamilton Rescue Squad, AtlantiCare Paramedics, and SouthSTAR Air Medical.

Hamilton Township police have not reported any other vehicles being involved in the crash. Preliminary findings indicate the motorcycle left the roadway after the rider was unable to navigate the curve.

The incident temporarily turned a routine evening ride into a major emergency response as first responders worked to stabilize the injured rider before the helicopter transport.
