Missing Newark man last seen near Military Park

NEWARK, NJ – Newark officials are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 66-year-old man last seen near one of the city’s busiest gathering spots.

William Nieves Rodriguez, of Newark, was reported missing on Friday and was last spotted in the area of Military Park, according to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. Rodriguez is described as Hispanic, standing 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with salt and pepper hair. At the time he disappeared, he was wearing a gray sweater, blue jeans, and white and blue sneakers.

The Public Safety Department is urging anyone with information to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Tips can also be submitted online at the Newark Police Division’s website. All information provided will remain confidential, and callers may be eligible for a reward.

The search for Rodriguez continues as officials press for community assistance in bringing him home safely.
