Deadly moped crash under investigation in Prince George’s County
BRENTWOOD, Md. — A late-night crash turned deadly after a moped rider lost control and slammed into a pickup truck, authorities said.
The crash happened around 10:20 p.m. on March 14 near Bladensburg Road and 40th Place.
The rider, identified as 28-year-old Edwin Castillo-Jiminez of Hyattsville, was rushed to a hospital following the collision.
Despite medical efforts, he died from his injuries on March 17.
Investigators say preliminary findings suggest Castillo-Jiminez lost control of the moped before striking the pickup truck.
No one inside the truck was injured.
The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine what led to the loss of control.
