A man riding a moped died after being struck by a car on a Baltimore roadway before dawn Sunday, police said.
BALTIMORE, Md. — An adult male riding a moped was killed early Sunday after he was struck by a car on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Baltimore, according to police.
Southern District patrol officers responded at about 3:30 a.m. to the 500 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard for a reported serious crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Investigators determined that the unidentified man was riding a moped when he crossed in front of a 2014 Nissan Altima and was struck by the vehicle.
The moped rider was transported to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police have not released the victim’s identity.
The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene following the crash.
Detectives from the Baltimore Police Department’s Crash Team are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
No charges have been announced.
