Multiple people shot in Woodlawn overnight

Multiple victims hospitalized after overnight shooting in Woodlawn, police say.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A shooting early Friday morning in the Woodlawn area has left several individuals hospitalized, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.

Authorities said officers from the Woodlawn Precinct responded at approximately 2:30 a.m. to reports of gunfire in the 1800 block of Woodlawn Drive.

Upon arrival, officers found that multiple people had been injured during the incident.

The victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Police have not disclosed the number of individuals injured or the extent of their conditions. No arrests have been announced, and investigators have not yet released information about any suspects.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit are currently leading the investigation. The area surrounding the shooting scene was cordoned off as evidence was collected throughout the morning.

“Detectives assigned to the #BCoPD Violent Crimes Unit are on the scene of a shooting that occurred,” the department said in a post shared early Friday.


Investigation continues as police seek public assistance

Officials have not yet stated whether the shooting occurred indoors or outdoors, or whether it appeared to be a targeted incident. It is also unclear how many weapons were involved.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the department as the investigation continues. Updates are expected as detectives gather more details from witnesses and surveillance footage in the area.

No motive for the shooting has been identified. Baltimore County Police said more information will be released when confirmed.
