Myrtle Beach police launch donation drive to support domestic violence victims

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The Myrtle Beach Police Department has partnered with the Family Justice Center to collect donations throughout October in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The community-wide drive aims to help victims of domestic abuse by providing essential household and personal care items to those receiving assistance from the center.

Police said donations can include full-size personal hygiene products, cleaning supplies, diapers, and non-perishable food.

Drive supports Family Justice Center services

The Family Justice Center serves individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, offering emergency resources, counseling, and long-term recovery assistance. Organizers said the donation drive will help maintain those services for local residents in crisis.

Requested items include new towels, linens, utensils, canned goods, and paper products, as well as items often overlooked in donations such as socks, sports bras, and deodorant. All items must be new, and used goods will not be accepted.

Collection runs through October 31

Donations can be dropped off at the Myrtle Beach Police Department, 1101 N. Oak Street, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The collection period runs through the end of October.

Residents with questions are encouraged to contact Detective M. Paitsel at 843-918-1382 or via email at mpaitsel@cityofmyrtlebeach.com.

Local officials say every contribution helps strengthen the city’s network of support for domestic violence survivors.
