UPPER POTTSGROVE, Pa. — A New Jersey college baseball player is dead after police fatally shot him when he mistakenly went to the wrong home while trying to return from a friend’s birthday celebration, according to authorities and his family.
Glenn “Bubba” Pysher, 22, had recently transferred to Saint Elizabeth University in Morristown, where he was preparing for the upcoming baseball season. Family members said he became disoriented after leaving a bar Saturday night and mistakenly believed he had arrived at a friend’s residence.
Family Says He Was Unarmed
According to investigators, Pysher approached the back door of a home in Upper Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, carrying only his cellphone and a backpack. The homeowners, believing someone was attempting to break into the residence, called 911.
Within minutes of officers arriving, Pysher was shot by police.
His family has said he was unarmed during the encounter.
