New Jersey man arrested in suburban NY drug operation

Drug dealer busted in Pleasant Valley raid after undercover buys

PLEASANT VALLEY, NY – A narcotics investigation led by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force culminated in the arrest of a New Jersey man following a raid at a Pleasant Valley apartment earlier this month.

William Oliver, 33, was taken into custody on October 8 after authorities executed a search warrant at his residence inside the Pleasant Valley Garden Apartments. The arrest followed multiple undercover drug purchases made by agents, who identified Oliver as the source of narcotics distribution in the town and surrounding areas.

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Service Unit and Poughkeepsie SWAT team assisted in the early morning search operation. Oliver was arrested without incident and later charged with one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, a class B felony.

Following arraignment in Pleasant Valley Town Court, Oliver was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail. Authorities did not disclose the specific substances sold but confirmed the drugs involved were classified as dangerous and illegal under New York State law.

The investigation was supported by multiple local and state agencies, including the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Dangerous Drugs and Violent Crime Unit, New York State Police, and police departments from Beacon, Fishkill, East Fishkill, Hyde Park, and Poughkeepsie. The Pleasant Valley Building Department also assisted.

The Drug Task Force credited the success of the operation to ongoing collaboration among regional law enforcement and encouraged the public to report drug activity through its confidential tip line.

Oliver remains in custody pending further legal proceedings. Additional charges may be filed as the case progresses.
