Newark, NJ – Authorities are asking for the public’s help locating a 24-year-old woman wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting that occurred in Newark nearly two months ago.

Aaliecyah Cooper is being sought by detectives following a shots-fired incident that took place on Friday, September 19, at approximately 10:44 p.m. Officers responded to reports of gunfire near Birks Place and Nye Avenue but found no victims at the scene. Investigators did, however, recover spent shell casings indicating that a firearm had been discharged in the area.

Cooper is described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 240 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

The Newark Department of Public Safety released the alert Friday, stating that Cooper is wanted solely for questioning at this time as the investigation continues. Authorities have not disclosed what role she may have played in the incident.
