NEWARK, NJ — Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is appealing to the public for help in identifying a male suspect involved in a recent assault. The incident occurred on July 11, 2024, around 4 a.m. at a bus stop located at Broad and Market Streets.

Surveillance footage captured the suspect striking a female victim in the face with his fist while she was waiting at the bus stop. The suspect is described as having a thin build and dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a blue and white picnic-style shirt, a brown v-neck shirt, and white and blue shorts.

Anyone with information about the suspect or the incident is encouraged to contact local authorities to assist in the ongoing investigation.
