Newark Police Seek Public’s Assistance in Identifying Jewelry Store Robbery Suspects

August 28, 2024

NEWARK, N.J. — The Newark Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying four suspects involved in a brazen daylight robbery at a local jewelry store on August 24, 2024.

At approximately 1:40 p.m., four Black males entered Brick City Gold, a jewelry store located in the 100 block of Market Street. Armed with hammers, the suspects smashed display cases and made off with custom-made jewelry before fleeing the scene in a Ford Explorer SUV.

The suspects are described as being between 5’5″ and 5’9″ tall. Three of the suspects have a thin build, while the fourth is heavy-set. All four were dressed in black clothing, ski masks, and gloves during the robbery.

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé urges anyone with information about the suspects or the vehicle involved to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Authorities are actively seeking any leads that could assist in identifying the suspects and bringing them to justice.
