Berea Man Wins $50K on Platinum Jackpot Scratch-Off

BEREA, OH — What began as an ordinary day quickly turned extraordinary for Austin, a Berea resident who won $50,000 on a $500,000 Platinum Jackpot scratch-off ticket.

Austin, who works as a gutter cleaner, made the lucky purchase at Speedway #8133 on N. Rocky River Drive after completing his first job of the day. Initially planning to buy a drink, he changed his mind at the last minute and bought the $10 scratch-off ticket instead.

After scratching the ticket in his car, Austin was stunned to discover he had won $50,000. Overwhelmed, he called his wife to share the news, his hands trembling so much that she could barely see the ticket on FaceTime. He then returned to the store to confirm his win with the cashier, who was equally surprised.

After taxes, Austin will receive approximately $36,000. He plans to use the money to pay off some bills, save a portion, and treat himself to something special.
