Newark, NJ – City police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man accused of stealing a package containing a laptop from the front door of a residence in the 300 block of Hunterdon Street last week.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr., the theft occurred around 4:40 p.m. on December 20, when the suspect was seen on surveillance video removing a package that had just been delivered to an apartment building. The man then fled the scene in a burgundy Toyota SUV, which was also captured on video.
Detectives are urging anyone who recognizes the suspect or the vehicle to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the division’s website at npd.newarkpublicsafety.org.
Officials said all information provided will remain confidential and may be eligible for a reward.
