PHILADELPHIA, PA — A wave of gun violence swept through Philadelphia overnight, leaving nine people injured in three separate shootings across the city, according to police.

The shootings, which occurred across the city, took place over the course of eight hours and remain under investigation by the department’s Shooting Investigation Group (SIG). No arrests have been made in connection with any of the incidents.

Early morning shooting on Marsden Street leaves man hospitalized

At approximately 5:28 a.m. Wednesday, officers in the 15th District responded to the 6900 block of Marsden Street after reports of a shooting. A white adult male was found with a gunshot wound and was transported by Medic to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in stable condition.

Police reported that the shooting occurred on the highway in that area. Investigators have not located a crime scene, and the motive behind the shooting remains undetermined.

No arrests have been made, and the case is being actively reviewed by the SIG.

Drive-by attack wounds three on North Gratz Street

Just hours earlier, officers from the 22nd District were dispatched at approximately 10:39 p.m. Tuesday night to the 1500 block of North Gratz Street following a report of an armed person.

Upon arrival, police discovered three gunshot victims—identified as a 16-year-old male, a 37-year-old female, and a 34-year-old male—who had been sitting on a porch when a white Dodge Durango with tinted windows pulled up. According to police, three to four masked men wearing dark clothing exited the vehicle and opened fire before fleeing the scene.

The victims were transported by police to Temple University Hospital and are expected to recover. Authorities have not identified any suspects.

Multiple men injured in South Stanley Street shooting

Earlier in the evening, at 9:21 p.m., a shooting on the 1500 block of South Stanley Street left three adult males wounded. Officers from the 17th District responded and located the victims—a 28-year-old male shot in the right hip, a 24-year-old male shot in the back and neck, and an 18-year-old male shot in the right leg and left arm.

All three were transported to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center in stable condition. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.

The SIG is handling the ongoing investigations and has not released any further details.

Police continue investigations across city districts

Authorities have yet to establish a connection between the three shootings, though all incidents are being managed by the Shooting Investigation Group. Investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward.

As of Wednesday morning, no weapons have been recovered and all suspects remain at large.
