A crash investigation has closed Route 47 in Cumberland County Monday morning while heavy commuter traffic is slowing travel at the Lincoln Tunnel, Holland Tunnel, George Washington Bridge and several major North Jersey highways.
New Jersey commuters are facing a difficult Monday morning drive, with a serious crash investigation closing Route 47 in Vineland and heavy congestion impacting major roadways and Hudson River crossings.
The most significant disruption is in Cumberland County, where all lanes of Route 47 remain closed in both directions between West Elmer Road and south of Walnut Road in Vineland because of an ongoing crash investigation.

Major closures
A downed utility pole has shut down all southbound lanes of U.S. 1&9 (Tonnelle Avenue) near Routes 495 and 3 in North Bergen, creating another major traffic issue for Hudson County commuters.
Commercial vehicle restrictions also remain in effect on the lower level of the George Washington Bridge. Trucks exiting at Exit 73 from U.S. 46, Route 4 and the I-95 local lanes are being directed to remain left and use the designated exit from the express lanes.

Heavy delays across North Jersey
Morning rush-hour congestion is building at several of the state’s busiest crossings into New York.
The Lincoln Tunnel is reporting approximately 35-minute travel times from the New Jersey Turnpike Exit 16E using both the center and south tubes.
The Holland Tunnel is experiencing approximately 20-minute delays from both the New Jersey Turnpike Exit 14C and Route 139 at Tonnelle Circle.
Drivers approaching the George Washington Bridge should expect delays of about 45 minutes on the upper level from I-80 to the Alexander Hamilton Bridge and 30 minutes on the lower level.
