NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a hate crime assault. The incident occurred on Monday, June 17, at around 10:15 AM in front of 1047 Amsterdam Avenue, within the 26th Precinct’s jurisdiction.

According to the report, an unidentified male made derogatory remarks based on national origin before assaulting a 52-year-old man. The assailant used a metal thermos to strike the victim in the head, causing pain. The victim declined medical treatment at the scene.

Following the assault, the suspect fled on foot in an undisclosed direction. The NYPD has released media depicting the individual in hopes that the public can assist in his identification and capture.
