Bronx, NY – Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing that occurred aboard a BX16 bus last week in the Highbridge section of the Bronx.
According to the NYPD, the incident happened around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, as the BX16 bus was approaching the intersection of West 166th Street and Ogden Avenue. A 43-year-old man was involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified individual while on the bus.
Police say the argument escalated into a physical struggle that continued after both men exited the bus. During the altercation, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the left hand before fleeing on foot.
The victim was treated for his injury, which police described as non-life-threatening.
Detectives are reviewing surveillance video and interviewing witnesses in the area in hopes of identifying the suspect. Authorities have not yet released a description of the attacker.
