NYPD Seeks Information on Assault and Attempted Robbery in Queens

NEW YORK, NY – An alarming assault and attempted robbery incident was reported in Queens, prompting the New York City Police Department to seek the public’s assistance in identifying the assailant. The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at around 7:30 AM in front of 112-23 Roosevelt Avenue.

A 17-year-old female was attacked while walking along Roosevelt Avenue when an unknown male approached her from behind and attempted to steal her cellphone. As the victim resisted and tried to reclaim her property, the assailant punched her several times in the face, causing minor injuries. After the altercation, the suspect dropped the phone and fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing all-black clothing and carrying a multicolored backpack. The NYPD urges anyone with information about this individual or the incident to come forward to help ensure community safety and assist in the ongoing
