Teen Robbed at Brooklyn Facebook Marketplace Meet

NEW YORK, NY – A reported armed robbery in Brooklyn has prompted an NYPD investigation, with authorities now seeking two suspects. The incident occurred on Sunday, May 26, 2024, around 9:58 PM, involving a 16-year-old male victim who arranged a meeting via Facebook Marketplace to purchase a phone.

The meeting took place on Nostrand Avenue where the two suspects, initially posing as sellers, turned on the victim. They brandished a firearm and forcibly took property from him before fleeing on foot southbound on Nostrand Avenue. Fortunately, the victim was not injured during the ordeal.

Descriptions of the suspects have been provided by the police. The first suspect is a male with a medium complexion and slim build, last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers. The second suspect, also male, has a dark complexion and slim build, with braided hair. He is approximately 5′ 11″ tall and weighs about 165 pounds. His last known attire included a green sweatshirt, black pants, and grey sneakers.

The NYPD urges anyone with information about the suspects or the incident to come forward to assist in their capture and to prevent future crimes.
