Ocean County approves $4.6 million for renovations at airport in Berkeley Township

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, N.J. — The Ocean County Board of Commissioners has introduced Ordinance #2025-24, appropriating $3.8 million from the Capital Improvement Fund for the design and construction of a fuel tank relocation project at the Ocean County Airport.

The project, located in Berkeley Township, involves moving existing fueling infrastructure to a new location within airport grounds to improve safety, logistics, and compliance with updated regulatory standards.

Fuel system upgrade part of infrastructure improvements

County officials stated the relocation is necessary to support continued operations and future development at the airport. The ordinance fully funds the project using county capital resources, with no bonds or external financing noted.

A second ordinance appropriating the sum of $800,000.00 from the Capital Improvement Fund authorizing the Design and Permitting of a Maintenance Hangar at the Ocean County Airport, located in Berkeley Township, in the County of Ocean, State of New Jersey.
