New Brunswick, NJ – A 29-year-old Middlesex man appeared to make light of his arrest by sticking out his tongue during his booking photo after being taken into custody on a criminal charge in Ocean County.
Nicholas Lawrence Dobias, whose listed residence is in Ocean County, was booked into the Ocean County jail on Monday, according to jail records.
Mugshot draws attention
Dobias’ booking photograph shows him sticking out his tongue at the camera, an unusual pose that appears to mock the standard mugshot process.
Jail records identify Dobias as a U.S. citizen, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing approximately 190 pounds. Records also list “Lyrical Onyx” as an alias.
Held without bail
According to jail records, Dobias was committed to the correctional facility on July 21 and is being held without bail pending a pre-trial hearing.
Court records indicate he has been charged under N.J.S.A. 2C:12-3(a), which pertains to terroristic threats.

Under New Jersey law, the offense generally alleges that a person threatened to commit violence with the purpose of terrorizing another or causing the evacuation of a building, place of assembly, or public transportation facility, or otherwise causing serious public inconvenience. The exact allegations against Dobias were not immediately available.
As of Tuesday, no additional details about the circumstances leading to the arrest had been released by authorities.
