OCEAN COUNTY, N.J. — Bernard Lamont Proctor, 35, was taken into custody on December 1, 2024, and faces a range of serious charges related to weapons possession, drug distribution, and drug possession, according to inmate records.

Proctor was charged with several offenses, including unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon while committing a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) crime, and possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school. Additional charges include possession of drug paraphernalia, multiple counts of possession of Schedule I-IV controlled substances, and distribution of heroin or cocaine under 0.5 ounces.

Authorities have noted that Proctor’s case includes a “Certain Person Not to Have Weapons” charge, indicating a prior conviction or restriction on gun ownership. He is currently being held without bail at the Ocean County Correctional Facility, as indicated by court records.

The arrest was accompanied by a detainer issued by Robbinsville Municipal Court, and no projected release date has been provided.

Proctor faces significant legal challenges as he awaits trial on these charges, which include multiple second- and third-degree felonies.
