MORROW COUNTY, Ohio — Deputy Daniel Sherrer, a four-year veteran of the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, was shot and killed Monday night while responding to a domestic disturbance call, authorities confirmed.

Sherrer, 31, was dispatched to a residence for a report of a domestic incident. During the response, the deputy was shot. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died a short time later from his injuries.

Details surrounding the incident, including information on the suspect and the circumstances of the shooting, have not yet been released by the sheriff’s office. The investigation remains active.
