Driver wanted in deadly Morristown hit and run flees scene as victim dies

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Police are searching for a driver accused in a deadly hit-and-run crash that left one person dead in Morristown.

Authorities identified the suspect as Wilson “Adrian” Morocho-Necta, 33, of Morristown, who remains at large.

The crash happened around 6:53 a.m. on March 20 at Sussex Avenue and Speedwell Place, where first responders found a victim pinned beneath a truck.

The victim was rushed to Morristown Medical Center and later pronounced dead.

Investigators said the driver fled the scene on foot.

Following a joint investigation by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Morristown Police, and the Sheriff’s Office, Morocho-Necta was identified as the alleged driver.

He is now charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and endangering an injured victim.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact Morristown Police or Morris County Crime Stoppers.
