Philadelphia police are investigating three violent incidents that occurred overnight across the city, including a fatal hit-and-run and two separate stabbing cases, authorities confirmed early Saturday.
In the 19th District, an unidentified adult white male, referred to as “John Doe,” was struck by a vehicle in the area of 4xx North 63rd Street at approximately 11:37 p.m. The vehicle fled the scene, and medics transported the victim to Lankenau Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 12:21 a.m. The Crash Investigation Division is actively working to identify both the victim and the driver involved.
Less than two hours later, a stabbing was reported in the 26th District at 1400 North Marshall Street at approximately 1:58 a.m. Responding officers located an adult female with a stab wound. She was transported to Temple University Hospital by police. The extent of her injuries has not been disclosed. The East Detectives Division has taken over the investigation, and no arrests have been announced.
A third incident occurred at about 1:02 a.m. in the 22nd District. Police say an adult female was found with multiple stab wounds on the 27xx block of West Eyre Street. She was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center by medics. Authorities reported that no crime scene had been located at the time of the report.
Separate incidents under active investigation
Investigators have not determined any connection between the two stabbing incidents, and motives for both remain unknown. No suspects are currently in custody for any of the events.
Central Detectives Division is handling the investigation into the West Eyre Street incident, while Crash Investigation and East Detectives are overseeing the hit-and-run and North Marshall Street stabbing, respectively.
The identities of the stabbing victims have not been released, and all three investigations remain ongoing as police seek information from the public.
