Williamsburg player scores $100K with boosted Mega Millions ticket
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — A routine online lottery purchase turned into a six-figure payday after a Virginia man hit big in a recent Mega Millions drawing.
Bradley Mathews scored a $100,000 prize in the March 3 drawing after matching four white balls and the Mega Ball.
The winning numbers were 7, 21, 53, 54 and 62, with Mega Ball 16.
What would normally be a $10,000 prize was boosted tenfold thanks to a 10X multiplier attached to the ticket.
The ticket was purchased online through the Virginia Lottery’s digital platform, which allows players to buy entries for games like Mega Millions and Powerball from their phones or computers.
Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.
