Operation Retail Theft Results in Nine Arrests

*Boston, MA – On Tuesday, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) and District D-4 (South End/Back Bay) conducted Operation Retail Theft as part of the Safe Shopping Initiative. This collaboration with local businesses aimed to deter shoplifting and address community concerns.

The operation targeted CVS Drugstores at 1575 Blue Hill Ave. and 231 Mass. Ave., leading to nine arrests. These arrests included charges based on both outstanding warrants and new offenses discovered during the operation.

Javon Coleman, 21, of Braintree, was arrested and will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court for shoplifting by concealing merchandise. Mateo Storms, 38, of Mattapan, was also arrested and will face arraignment in Dorchester District Court for shoplifting by asportation and an active warrant for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Leo Chatelain, 42, of Mattapan, is set to be arraigned for shoplifting by concealing merchandise and had an active warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. Jose Roque-Gomez, 40, of Mattapan, was detained and is awaiting arraignment in Dorchester District
