Stanley Sabatel Convicted in Luzerne County Drug Trafficking Case

September 25, 2024

HARRISBURG, PA – A jury has convicted Stanley Sabatel, the primary supplier in a Luzerne County drug trafficking organization, of multiple felony charges, announced Attorney General Michelle Henry on Wednesday.

The conviction followed a week-long trial where Sabatel was found guilty of conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine, conspiracy to possess with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, and conspiracy to commit robbery. Testimony presented by the Office of Attorney General identified Sabatel, 26, as a key supplier for mid-to upper-level street dealers of methamphetamine.

Following the verdict, Sabatel’s bail was revoked, and he was remanded to prison. Sentencing is scheduled for November 27.

“This defendant was at the top of the chain of a methamphetamine trafficking operation distributing poison throughout Luzerne County,” said Attorney General Henry. “This verdict is a testament to the relentless efforts of law enforcement to combat drug trafficking in our communities.”

The charges stemmed from a joint investigation between the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and Pennsylvania State Police, with support from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Hazleton Police Department, and Butler Township
