Operation Street Sweeper leads to arrest of 9 drug dealers in Dutchess County

June 11, 2025

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — Nine drug dealers were arrested across Dutchess County following a months-long investigation by the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force, officials announced Wednesday.

Dubbed Operation Street Sweeper, the investigation targeted independent drug dealers funneling fentanyl, cocaine, and other dangerous drugs into neighborhoods throughout Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park, and the City of Beacon.

“These narcotics and dangerous drugs are fuels for the violent and property crimes, addiction, and fatal overdoses that have devastated hundreds of families across Dutchess County in recent years,” officials said.

Task Force agents conducted undercover operations over several months, purchasing fentanyl and cocaine while gathering evidence to build felony cases. From June 3 through Tuesday, coordinated search warrants were executed at multiple locations.

During the raids, authorities seized quantities of fentanyl, cocaine, U.S. currency, digital scales, and drug packaging materials, evidence that highlighted the scope of the trafficking operations.

COORDINATED ENFORCEMENT ACROSS MULTIPLE JURISDICTIONS

The operation focused on dismantling street-level trafficking operations that contribute to local drug distribution networks. Officials emphasized that the arrests aimed to disrupt the supply of narcotics in Dutchess County communities.

The nine individuals arrested are now facing Class B felony charges related to narcotics distribution. Their identities have not yet been publicly released as investigations continue.

The Drug Task Force, composed of agents from multiple agencies, coordinated closely across jurisdictional boundaries to conduct the arrests and searches safely and effectively.

Authorities have not reported any injuries or resistance during the arrests. Further details about court proceedings are expected as the cases advance.
