SOUTHAMPTON, NJ – Fire crews from across Burlington County worked through the night Sunday after a large barn fire erupted on the 400 block of Isaac Budd Road, drawing a massive multi-agency response and prompting hours of suppression and overhaul efforts.
Officials said Task Force 1710, consisting of units from Vincent Fire Company, Hampton Lakes Volunteer Fire Department, and Hampton Lakes Emergency Squad, was dispatched around 7:31 p.m. after reports of a working barn fire with multiple exposures. Chief 1710 Mitchell arrived first and confirmed the blaze had spread dangerously close to nearby structures and equipment.
Rescue Engine 1711, led by Captain Brockson with a crew of four, was first on scene and immediately deployed multiple handlines to attack the fire and protect surrounding property. Tender 1716, operated by Captain Shields and a crew of three, arrived shortly after to establish a water supply and assist in fire suppression. Rescue Engine 1712 later set up a fill point to support a tanker shuttle operation.

Due to the barn’s contents, firefighters faced an extended overhaul process, remaining on scene until shortly after 3 a.m. to ensure all hot spots were extinguished.
The Burlington County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire, which officials said is standard procedure following incidents of this scale.
