Paramus, NJ – The Paramus Police Department announced Saturday that the borough is fully mobilized ahead of a winter storm expected to bring between 10 and 16 inches of snow from early Sunday through Monday evening. A winter storm warning remains in effect from 3 a.m. Sunday to 6 p.m. Monday, with officials urging residents to stay off the roads and prepare for dangerous travel conditions.
To ensure public safety and allow Department of Public Works crews to clear streets effectively, the borough announced several closures and service suspensions. All borough offices will be closed Monday, and there will be no garbage or recycling collection on Monday or Tuesday. Trash pickup will resume on residents’ next regularly scheduled day, and containers should not be placed curbside until Tuesday night. The Paramus Traffic Court’s virtual session and senior bus service for both days have also been canceled.
Residents are encouraged to sign up for ParamusALERTS for real-time updates on road closures and emergency notifications. Police reminded the public not to call the department’s main line for non-emergency inquiries such as power outages or street conditions, as lines must remain open for emergencies only.
