Parsippany, NJ – Snow continued to fall across Parsippany Monday morning as police reported slick, snow-covered roads and urged residents to remain off the streets during a statewide travel ban in effect until noon.

In a 9:30 a.m. update, the Parsippany Police Department said conditions throughout the township remain hazardous, with accumulation ongoing and roadways described as very slippery. Officers shared images from around town showing snow-covered streets and limited visibility.

Even after the restriction is lifted at noon, officials said roads are expected to remain dangerous due to lingering snow and ice.

Vehicle clearing required before driving

Police stressed that drivers who must travel are required to fully clear snow and ice from their vehicles before entering the roadway. That includes removing accumulation from windows, hood, roof, and lights.

Failure to properly clear a vehicle may result in a traffic summons under New Jersey motor vehicle laws, according to the department.

The warning comes as multiple crashes and disabled vehicles were reported across the region earlier in the morning, compounding delays and hazardous conditions during the storm.
