Philadelphia Police Say Car from Jersey Stole License Plates from City Cop Car

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying three individuals suspected of stealing a license plate from a marked police vehicle early Friday morning. The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. in the 100 block of North 13th Street in the 9th District.

According to Central Detectives Division, the suspects—a white male wearing a gray t-shirt, black shorts, and red sneakers; a white male wearing a black hat, white t-shirt, black shorts, and black sneakers; and a white female with long brown hair, wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans, and sandals—were captured on surveillance footage near the scene.

The suspects were seen driving a silver 4-door Acura with tinted windows, which may have had New Jersey license plates. The vehicle was used during the theft before the suspects fled the area.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the identities of the suspects or the whereabouts of the vehicle to contact Central Detectives Division.
