PITTSBURGH, PA—Pittsburgh Police apprehended a suspect on Tuesday following the theft of a vehicle. The vehicle, left running on the 600 block of Penn Avenue downtown, was stolen early in the morning. The accused, Michael Lipovsik III, 25, was arrested during a traffic stop while trapped in congestion at Greentree Road at Kearns Avenue.
Lipovsik’s apprehension led to the discovery of an outstanding warrant by Allegheny County Police for multiple offenses committed on March 15 in Homestead. Furthermore, Pittsburgh Police have linked Lipovsik to a severe crime on March 14 involving the armed carjacking and kidnapping of a woman from a downtown parking garage.
Facing numerous charges, including Kidnapping, Robbery, Robbery of a Motor Vehicle, and others, Lipovsik’s arrest highlights a significant breakthrough in local law enforcement efforts against crime in the city.
