NEWARK, NJ – A man stumbled into a Newark police precinct early Monday morning, bloodied and seeking help after being beaten by two men outside a Ferry Street venue.
The assault unfolded around 4 a.m., when the victim and a friend were targeted by two men making verbal taunts.
Moments later, the confrontation turned violent in a nearby parking lot, leaving one man injured and two suspects on the run.

Victim attacked after confrontation outside venue
According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., the victim had just exited a Ferry Street establishment with a friend when the suspects began shouting insults. The man crossed the street to confront them, prompting one suspect to push him to the ground. The second suspect then struck the victim in the head with a blunt object before running off and entering a white car that sped from the scene.
Investigation underway
The injured man managed to reach the 3rd Precinct at 649 Market Street, where officers called for medical assistance. EMS transported him to University Hospital, where he remains in stable condition. Detectives are now reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and parking lots in hopes of identifying the suspects.
Police appeal for information
Director Miranda urged anyone with knowledge of the suspects’ identities to come forward. Crime Stoppers tips remain anonymous, and information leading to an arrest may qualify for a reward.
