Police seek information after attempted luring post surfaces on social media

HACKENSACK, N.J. — The Hackensack Police Department is asking for the public’s help following a social media post alleging an attempted luring incident that had not been previously reported to authorities.

According to a statement shared Tuesday by the department on its official Facebook page, the post appeared on the local community group Hackensack Happenings and referenced an incident involving a potential attempted luring. The department confirmed that no official report had been filed at the time the post was made.

“We request that anyone with information about the victim or incident contact the Hackensack Police Department 24/7 at 201-646-7777,” the department wrote. “You will not be required to provide your name.”

Police did not release specific details about the nature of the attempted luring or the location where it may have occurred. The department is treating the matter seriously and urges community members to report such incidents directly to law enforcement.
