Police seek suspect after woman groped at harlem bus stop

NEW YORK, N.Y. – A woman waiting for a city bus in Harlem was reportedly groped by an unidentified man who fled after boarding an M116 bus late last month.

Authorities said the incident happened around 3:05 p.m. on October 29 near Frederick Douglass Boulevard and West 116th Street.

The 30-year-old victim told police the suspect touched her inappropriately over her clothing before getting onto an eastbound M116 bus.

Suspect fled after exiting bus

Investigators said the suspect exited the bus at East 116th Street and Madison Avenue before fleeing in an unknown direction. The victim was not physically injured in the encounter but immediately reported the incident to police.

Detectives from the NYPD’s Special Victims Unit are reviewing surveillance footage from MTA buses and nearby businesses in an effort to identify the man responsible.

Police release description and appeal for tips

The suspect is described as a male approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, gray hooded sweatshirt, gray jeans, and white sneakers.
