Police seek suspect in Heritage Valley New Years Eve burglary spree

WASHINGTON TWP., NJ – Detectives are investigating a residential burglary and two attempted break-ins that took place on New Year’s Eve in the Heritage Valley neighborhood, and police are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect captured on home surveillance footage.

Authorities said the incidents occurred between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on December 31 in the area of Freedom Road, Valley Run Drive, and Constitution Road. Investigators released an image of the suspect taken from a Ring security camera showing the individual standing on an air conditioning unit and disconnecting a doorbell camera during one of the attempted burglaries.

The suspect is described as wearing dark outer clothing, pants, and shoes, along with a dark hat or hood, a separate balaclava-style face covering, and blue gloves. Police said the person was carrying a screwdriver at the time of the incidents.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have seen suspicious individuals or vehicles in the neighborhood that evening—or who has relevant surveillance footage—to contact Detective Joe Russo at 856-589-0330, extension 1194.

Residents are also encouraged to review home security recordings between 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. for any potential evidence and to remain alert for suspicious activity.

Police are seeking public assistance to identify a suspect seen disabling a Ring camera during a New Year’s Eve burglary and two attempted break-ins in Washington Township’s Heritage Valley neighborhood.
