Police Seek Vehicle After 21-Year-Old Killed in Hit and Run in Suffolk County

RONKONKOMA, NY — Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help following a fatal hit-and-run incident involving a dark-colored Toyota Prius. The collision, which resulted in the death of 21-year-old Elyse Crivaro of Holbrook, occurred on May 20 at approximately 3:20 AM.

The incident took place as Crivaro was in the roadway at the intersection of Ronkonkoma Avenue and Third Street.

She was struck by the vehicle traveling southbound and was subsequently transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Detectives have identified the vehicle involved as a dark-colored Toyota Prius and are actively pursuing leads. They urge anyone with information regarding the crash to contact the Major Case Unit at 631-852-6555 or to call Suffolk County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
