Publix ticket turns into $1M lottery payday

Orlando man cashes in $1K a week for life prize for $1M lump sum

Tallahassee, FL — A Central Florida man turned a winning draw game ticket into a $1,000,000 payout after opting for a lump sum instead of lifetime weekly payments.

Joseph Moss of Orlando claimed a $1,000 a Week for Life prize from the CASH4LIFE draw game, stemming from a November 9 drawing, according to Florida Lottery officials.

Rather than receiving weekly payments, Moss chose a one-time lump sum of $1,000,000.

The winning ticket was purchased at a Publix store located on Narcoossee Road in Orlando.

CASH4LIFE offered players the chance to win either $1,000 a day for life or $1,000 a week for life before the game was discontinued.

Lottery officials said prizes like Moss’s highlight the long-term impact of draw games that offered lifetime winnings.
