Cleveland players hit identical winning combination with one collecting an extra $5,000
CLEVELAND, OH — The same five numbers delivered two big lottery paydays in Cleveland when two women separately matched the evening drawing Saturday, scoring $50,000 apiece before one boosted her total winnings to $55,000 with an additional wager.
The winning Ohio Lottery numbers were 1-1-1-0-0.
Both players placed $1 straight wagers on the combination, with each ticket producing a $50,000 prize.
One of the players, identified by the Ohio Lottery as Teresa F., also placed a 10-way box wager. That bet added another $5,000 to her winnings, bringing her total haul to $55,000.
The other player won $50,000.
The Ohio Lottery said the odds of matching all five Pick 5 numbers are 1 in 100,000.
After mandatory state and federal tax withholdings of 26.75%, the $50,000 winner will receive $36,625, according to the Lottery.
Teresa will receive $40,287.50 from her combined $55,000 prize.
The winning tickets came from two different retailers in the Cleveland area.
Golden Gate Beverage and Liquor, located at 6105 Mayfield Road in Mayfield Heights, sold one of the tickets.
BP Larchmere at 13165 Larchmere Blvd. in Shaker Heights sold the other.
The Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $35 billion to education since 1974.
