NEW YORK, NY – An incident involving the theft of a two-willed scooter escalated into violence early Tuesday morning in Queens. At approximately 1:30 AM on June 11, 2024, a 47-year-old man was assaulted in front of 61-11 Fresh Pond Road as he attempted to retrieve his stolen scooter.

According to police reports, the assailant approached the victim, forcibly took the scooter, and when confronted, physically assaulted the victim. The attacker also simulated having a firearm, further threatening the victim before fleeing westbound on Eliot Avenue with the stolen scooter.

The victim sustained minor injuries during the encounter but refused medical treatment at the scene. The suspect remains at large, and authorities are actively seeking any leads that could assist in their capture.
