Seaford man arrested for fifth DUI offense in Millville

MILLVILLE, Del. – Delaware State Police arrested a 46-year-old Seaford man for his fifth DUI offense after finding him asleep behind the wheel of a parked truck on a sidewalk Thursday evening.

At approximately 5:47 p.m. on January 24, 2025, troopers responded to the 35000 block of Atlantic Avenue following a report of a Chevrolet Silverado obstructing a sidewalk. Upon arrival, troopers found the driver, identified as Charles Graves, asleep in the vehicle.

Police say Graves exhibited signs of impairment during questioning. After conducting Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, troopers determined he was under the influence and took him into custody. A background check revealed four prior DUI convictions.

During a subsequent search of the truck, troopers also discovered drug paraphernalia.

Graves was transported to Troop 4 and charged with felony fifth-offense DUI, in addition to other related charges. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $5,200 cash bond.
