NEWARK, N.J. – Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding 11-year-old Sarayna Pereira, who was reported missing Friday afternoon after she was last seen near South 19th Street, according to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr.
Police said Sarayna was last spotted at 4:13 p.m. wearing clear eyeglasses decorated with pink roses, a gray T-shirt with the word “Link” printed on it, a tan jacket, tan earmuffs, and gray and black New Balance sneakers. She is described as 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighing about 120 pounds, with a light brown complexion, black hair, and brown eyes.
The Newark Department of Public Safety said an active search is underway and urged anyone who may have seen Sarayna or knows where she might be to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Tips can also be submitted anonymously online at the Newark Police Division website, and officials noted that information leading to Sarayna’s location could qualify for a reward.
