Seaside Park extends deadline for new police officer applications

Seaside Park, NJ – The Seaside Park Police Department has extended its deadline for applications to fill full-time police officer positions through both the Alternate Route and Intergovernmental Transfer programs.

The department announced that candidates enrolled in or graduates of a New Jersey Police Training Commission (PTC)-approved Basic Course for Police Officers are eligible to apply.

Preference will be given to Seaside Park residents, as the department seeks to build a force rooted in the local community.

Key Points

  • The Seaside Park Police Department extended its application deadline for full-time officer positions.
  • Applicants can apply through the Alternate Route or Intergovernmental Transfer programs.
  • Preference is given to certified Seaside Park residents.

Applications open for alternate route and transfer candidates

The Alternate Route program allows individuals who have completed or are currently enrolled in a PTC-approved police training course to apply directly without prior full-time employment as an officer. Those already certified as police officers in New Jersey may also apply for an intergovernmental transfer to Seaside Park.

Applicants must hold a valid PTC Basic Police Officer Certification and demonstrate a commitment to community service within the borough.

Salary range and submission details

The salary range for full-time officers is listed between $61,000 and $136,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Interested candidates are instructed to submit a resume and cover letter to Borough Clerk Jenna Jankowski at the Seaside Park municipal building, located at 1701 North Ocean Avenue, Seaside Park, NJ 08752.

Resumes may be delivered in person or mailed to the borough office. The department encouraged eligible candidates to apply promptly before the new deadline closes.
