Boston police say the operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and identify potential victims
BOSTON, Mass. — Seven men were arrested during a prostitution enforcement operation in Boston as part of an ongoing effort to address human trafficking and reduce demand for commercial sex, according to the Boston Police Department.
The operation took place Saturday, June 13, and was conducted by the department’s Human Trafficking Unit.
Police said the following individuals were taken into custody:
- Angelo Furtado, 54
- Darren Francisque, 24
- Matthew Fitzpatrick, 26
- Rev. Mahayaye-Vineetha Thero, 32
- Sundararajan Vaidyanathan, 56
- Timothy Sitorus, 42
- Yaseen Ahmad, 19
According to investigators, all seven suspects are expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of Sex for a Fee.
Police did not release additional details regarding the circumstances of the arrests.
The Boston Police Department said the operation was part of its ongoing efforts to identify victims of human trafficking while pursuing enforcement actions against those accused of soliciting prostitution.
